88. What's New Pussycat?
/We are continuing our teen girl throwback theme with another winner from the early 2000’s, Josie and the Pussycats! The music is as hot as Alan M and we are excited to talk about this pitch perfect satire.
Two friends downloading on the weeks movies, pop culture, and anything else we decide is worth catching up on.
We are continuing our teen girl throwback theme with another winner from the early 2000’s, Josie and the Pussycats! The music is as hot as Alan M and we are excited to talk about this pitch perfect satire.
We clearly were just excited to talk today, because we have a full hour and a half of chaos. But mostly, we're talking about the Garry Marshall stone cold classic, The Princess Diaries! Is this a perfect movie? Of course it is.
We close out our Julia Roberts series with… a movie without much Julia Roberts. But we do have a friend in the studio to chat about Brad and George a LOT. It is an excellent week to rewatch this classic.
We continue our #MonthofJulia with Steel Magnolias! It is her breakout role and first Oscar nomination. We are joined by a very special guest (and Steel Magnolias aficionado), Bryce Paschal! We talk southern ladies, our favorite quotes, and more about Julia Roberts, of course.
We are joined by our good friend Ellen from the Love That Movie Podcast to discuss a group favorite, My Best Friend's Wedding! We swoon over Dermot Mulroney, Rupert Everett, Cameron Diaz, and Julia Roberts! The whole cast! We love them all!
We are kicking off our Julia Roberts themed April Miniseries with two 90s classics, Pretty Woman and Runaway Bride! So then explain why we can't stop gushing over My Best Friends Wedding a week early? We don't owe you an explanation.
It's been a long day, week month... year.... but were back to talk about a show you can stream in self isolation, Lovesick! Formerly "Scrotal Recall", we recall our series opinions and stave off insanity. Spoilers abound, so try to burn through these 22 episodes before you listen!
We spent this week handling self isolation, and watching some top notch Jude Law/Matt Damon content, The Talented Mr. Ripley! Join us (and some brief appearances from friends) as we talk about boys, boats, and of course, butts.
In honor of the new Pixar outing, Onward, we do a mini retrospective on Pixar in the last 25 years. From Toy Story to Toy Story 4, we run through the varied history, and our favorite of the animated films.
We mourn SXSW and catch up on the movies we saw last week, primarily, Emma! It's fun! It's sexy! It's loosely based on the 1995 classic Clueless directed by Amy Heckerling!
We took some time this week to talk television, or most specifically the new season of Sex Education on Netflix!
We are jumping into 2020 movies with a fun gun, and glitter is everywhere. Birds of Prey made us want to cut our hair, take krav maga, and go shopping. We also spend time catching up on Sonic the Hedgehog, To All The Boys, and more!
BONG HIVE BABYYYY. It is a short lil episode as we are taking some time off, but we will be back soon!
You’re probably wondering, “are you guys really doing an episode on an extremely dated television show from over 10 years ago?” And to that we say, yeah. Oh yeah. Oh yeah.
We spent this week touching on the three movies nominated for Best Picture that we haven't spent an episode on, 1917, Ford v. Ferrari, and The Irishman. What do you think has the best chance to take home the gold?
We have had some time to cool off and collect our thoughts before bringing to you our opinions on the Oscar Nominations! Joker leads the pack with 11 nominations, but what did the academy miss? We go through all this and more! And it ends with a song, as all serious pieces of critique must. We thought that this'd be a better day.
We briefly touch on the Golden Globes and some more Oscar Watch predictions before getting into Greta Gerwig's latest masterpiece (Meg writes these descriptions), Little Women! It ends with both of us nearly in tears, which is a chill way to start your morning.
We recap why we have been MIA and go through our Top 10 Movies of 2019! Each. There is some overlap, but also some fun wildcards. What films did you love this year?
We are late to your feeds this week but I think we make up for it in chaotic energy. Adam Sandler. Safdie Brothers. A24. Uncut Gems. You're gonna love it.
It is taking great restraint for me not to simply post the lyrics to “Being Alive” as the caption for our long awaited (by us) Marriage Story episode! We talk Noah Baumbach’s latest film with Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver, and of course, bunnies.
I just wanted to own my domain name.
